Lo Prynne

pity makes me useful

In you I am anticipating a cruel man

Well I am cruel too
and rationed just so

dignify me, I am

unaccustomed to wonder
I become what serves

this solicitous quietude
like fuck
this bent city
and my appetite

Cetaphil

No, but the waste in this body is obscene
no matter what I do
parts of me flake into dust
unattended

I have begged and bored, so bored
I am still vulgar

If you call me a daughter, I’ll die

Startled by hunger I don’t enjoy you anymore I think
I don’t enjoy you anymore

Because Sappho wrote
“What does Zeus care, or the rest of his gang?”
I wanted to swallow her hand

Lo Prynne lives in Brooklyn.
