SYNCHRONICITY

I’m a poet
but I also design
my own underwear
desist in the open
space between my legs
where language
has evolved
to a bent shaped cone
pressing the most important
matters into the crux
of this ornate landscape
the willpower to create
has been subdued
the expert wants you to work
in ways that can be sanctioned;
in ways that exploit your intelligence
this information has been gathered
from an unwritten clause
passed down over several lifetimes
once you’re fucked you can’t get unfucked
sabotage is the way our money is collected
for wars we don’t support
in contrast to the humanity
we strive to link-up with

DO RIGHT BY ME

When you fed your father goat milk in the Alabama turbine
landscape

I thought Do Right By Me

When you tucked your penis between your legs and took
shelter from the tornado

I thought Do Right By Me

I also thought Do write to me

I am so covered in honey, I don’t know what the critique of
reason feels like under gloss of bee’s making

When you come to, in the bathtub, you realize no tornado
settled over us and the goat’s milk has turned to cheese

Hesitant at first to adopt a new language, you finally begin
speaking franglais with me

It’s an episode of turn
And turn

I put everything you’ve ever owned in plastic bins and begin
stacking them against the shadow of your doubt

Do Right By Me

I tell you turn me on

Speak to me like you would a lover during biblical times

A Shepard has found you practicing flute in the rafters

You recited a love poem that began

I want to wreck you
in the dark
am eager to show you my parts

EXTRATERRESTRIALS

when you say things like
“our species is a dying bunch”
there are extra gasps and groans
from the corner of people’s mouth
you uproot the channel of spreading
white babies across the cluster
insisting that shitting outside is good
for the woods
you have foot in your mouth
footnotes in your teeth
you preach what you read
it falls dirty anti-biblical
like you’re a martyr
or a true saint
people think they’re good
we laugh into our drinks
blowing the tops off
our stale beers like piss into a fire
give up your karaoke lessons
dance to something you don’t know
